Narcotics Anonymous’ Public Relations (PR) enables us to inform the communities and professionals about the services that we can provide to those who want to live a drug free life. Our purpose is to make and maintain relations with the general public, and help our membership grow. Due to COVID some of PR service has shifted to virtual presentations, outreach via email, poster drives, social media or other methods of communication which do not require close contact with people.
PR can also offer presentations for the opening of Narcotics Anonymous meetings in a new venue or institution, explaining to those facilities what NA is and isn’t. During warmer weather we set up a booth at street fairs or similar community events, distribute literature, answer questions and help make NA more accessible.
The Subcommittee of Public Relations for Rockland Area will have a focus on project-based service that will be flexible and will not require a long-term commitment. No Public Relations experience is necessary.The PR Subcommittee is currently meeting on a virtual platform the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM.
